Right next to Nara Park, you find Tōdai-ji, or the "Eastern Great Temple," a Buddhist temple complex that was once part of the Seven Great Temples. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Today we travelled to Hiroshima on the Shinkansen. We explored the Peace Park and Miyajima Island.

Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, near ground zero (where the first atomic weapon in history was dropped), is a monument against the further use of any nuclear weapon.

We visit Miyajima Island, its famous Tori gate and shrine, and eat delicious local oysters.

Before traveling to Osaka, we visited the Peace Memorial Museum and then had Hiroshima-style Okonomiyaki for lunch.

We arrived at Shin-Ōsaka Station on the Shinkansen Sakura 562 (さくら 562) after about 2 hours and 40 minutes, around 8:05 PM. From there, we took the subway to Namba station and a taxi to the hotel.

We got a lazy start and then took the subway to Osaka Castle Park, and took a boat tour of a part of Osaka.

In the evening we had Richard Hawkings, a local guide, take us on a "food tour" of the Dōtonbori area.

Today was for shopping, during the day, an unagi-don lunch, and sushi for dinner.
