Kyoto: Okonomiyaki Dinner
For dinner, we did not want to end up far from the hotel (it had been a long day), and we decided to try Okonomiyaki (お好み焼き) at Okonomiyaki Manmaru No Tsuki (鉄板匠 まんまるの月 錦店) 🗾. We had tried a version of this once before in Mountain View, CA, but wanted to try something authentic. While this dish is generally available nationwide, there are two main variations: the Hiroshima and Kansai styles. Since Kyoto is in Kansai, we got that region’s variation (we would later try the Hiroshima version). We had some appetizers and some cold beers with it.
