Alex Slone, a Sociology major, will be studying at Charles University in Prague this upcoming year. Alex grew up in Northern California and has fully adopted the entrepreneurial tech mindset that is synonymous with Silicon Valley. This past summer, he interned at a health food startup, Kuli Kuli, where he excelled at the challenging task of cold calling stores. By the end of the summer, Alex had placed Kuli Kuli products in over twenty new stores. Alex also got the opportunity to experience the world of AI and 3D sensors during a marketing internship at a Palo Alto startup, Lighthouse AI.
Both these internships fueled a desire in Alex to one day start his own company and have introduced him to some of the many challenges he wants to take on. One of these challenges is discovering different perspectives and definitions of what it means to be happy. This pursuit of different perspectives began when Alex traveled to England, France, the Dominican Republic and this past summer to Peru, where he hiked Machu Picchu. While studying abroad Alex hopes to explore the music scene in both Prague and Berlin and is looking forward to traveling up to Norway to see the northern lights.
